Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in Product Quality and Manufacturing.
- 5 years of People Management or Leadership experience.
- Ability to travel 15% of the time.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Six Sigma Blackbelt, American Society for Quality certification (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA) or equivalent certification/experience.
- Experience with building and launching consumer electronics products as a Product Quality Engineer, Product Quality Manager, or a similar discipline.
- Experience working with overseas Contract Manager/Joint Development Manufacturer partners.
- Knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes, and test/debug methods throughout the product life cycle.

In this role, you will work with a team of experts from diverse fields (e.g., Hardware and Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Designers, Product Management, and Customer Support) to act as a lead of Product Quality and represent the customer.
As a Product Quality Lead, you will ensure that all corporate business requirements, regulations, and other standards are met as applicable. You will apply intensive, self-directed, and diversified knowledge of hardware or software engineering and quality principles for Google’s Nest devices, systems, app, and services.
The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Responsibilities
- Lead team of Technical Program Managers, managing product quality and customer experience across several product categories including displays, audio, chromecast, connectivity, energy, cameras, sensors, tablets, laptops, etc.
- Work with the cross-functional teams (e.g., Software, Hardware, Product Management, Operations) to ensure new products and supporting systems have been designed to provide the data required to manage product quality.
- Communicate and apply lessons learned from sustaining products to New Product Introduction (NPI) from a technological, manufacturing, and operational perspective. Represent the customer and foster a culture of quality.
- Establish and maintain product quality standards for Google consumer products and services.
- Lead cross-functional teams on Quality initiatives, manage ambiguity, build consensus, act as an outstanding communicator, and influence at all levels of the company.
