Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of project management experience working across cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications:
- Deep analytical and problem solving experience, combined with excellent business judgment and an ability to present to senior decision makers in a clear and compelling manner.
- Knowledge of Localization operations and best practices.
- Ability to operate with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and global environment with success in project management.
- Ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience and comfort presenting data-driven materials to groups of any size, background and level.
- Excellent consulting, client-facing and organizational skills, and/or demonstrated ability to deliver strategic plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
About the job
As a Program Manager in the Localization team for Google Play, you will be a trusted localization advisor and partner to our Product Area stakeholders. You will manage the end-to-end localization process to ensure successful launches across the globe. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it’s your role to keep all the players coordinated on project progress and deadlines. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you will provide strategic insight to cross-functional teams and leadership to drive Google’s product expansion globally. You’ll work with Googlers from Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Finance, and more. You will flex your project management skills in order to ensure that our Localization process runs effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities
- Lead the localization of Google products from inception to launch, managing delivery, cost and quality of projects and overseeing vendor execution.
- Build relationships with product teams, educating and advising them on their product’s localization journey whilst representing our global users. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs related to a product’s localization and local insights needs.
- Be accountable for the product’s localization budget, from understanding the product’s roadmap to drive the annual planning, to advising stakeholders on optimizing their spend.
- Understand Localization workflows and services, identify tool and process needs to enable operational scaling, collaborate with Operations and Engineering to support deployment.
- Build compelling case for opportunities, develop recommendations and drive development and implementation. Structure and package work into compelling presentations and communications that influence audiences including executives.
