Google Hiring for Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Payments at Sunnyvale, CA Full Time
Minimum qualifications:
- 4 years of experience with US federal and/or state laws and regulations related to consumer compliance and consumer protection for financial services products offered by banks, money transmitters, etc.
- 2 years of experience with U.S. federal and/or state laws and regulations related to anti-money laundering, know your customer, security, and regulatory reporting.
Preferred qualifications:
- JD, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Consumer Protection Examiner, Commissioned Consumer Compliance Examiner, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with engaging regulators to demonstrate commitment to risk management and compliance activities.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and/or assessing consumer compliance related policies for a money transmitter, payments processor, financial institution, or similar organization.
- Experience advising on and managing consumer compliance risks for payments products and services and drafting governance/framework documents to support a financial technology/bank/money transmitter consumer compliance program.
- Experience responding to consumer complaints to financial sector regulators at the federal and/or state level.

In this role, you will provide support to the team responsible for the oversight and management of Google’s US payments entity, with a focus on consumer compliance. You will help support the growth of Google’s US payments business in a compliant, and safe manner.

Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Customer Support, Product, Marketing, Legal) to enhance governance around consumer compliance program and update our policies to reflect regulatory requirements.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment of policies and procedures. Partner with operational teams to identify and implement controls/processes to comply with regulatory requirements and changes.
- Support launches of financial services products and features by advising on consumer compliance risks and strategies.
- Support responses to consumer complaints submitted to federal/state financial sector regulators (e.g., Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and state financial sector regulatory facilities).
- Work with Payments Counsel and Government Affairs and Public Policy to stay up to date on new, pending, and upcoming regulations that will impact our payments compliance programs and products.
