Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience overseeing social media at a retail or e-commerce brand.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience launching and growing a social channel.
- Experience executing paid media campaigns.
- Experience as an independent contributor who can define strategy and execute, with the ability to influence above their level.
- Experience leading community management.
- Ability to plan and execute multiple, complex social programs simultaneously, while managing budget, timelines and cross-functional communication.
About the job
The Google Shopping Marketing team is seeking a Social Lead to help define our strategy and build our presence across Social platforms for both paid and organic efforts. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the brand narrative, voice, and engagement model for Google’s rapidly growing Shopping vertical.
Reporting into the Head of Brand Marketing, as the Social Lead you will be responsible for building Google Shopping’s presence across Social, including the day-to-day running of our organic channels and the creative development of our paid campaigns. You will collaborate closely with our Brand, Editorial, Media, and Insights teams, and directly manage our Social agency. You will combine cultural insight and product truth to craft social-first ideas that inspire and engage our users. You are metric-focused, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights to spark “thumb-stopping” creative and fuel channel growth. You have razor sharp creative judgment and are on top of the latest shopping trends and influencers. Most importantly, you are a thought leader and student of social, providing vision and inspiration for the role Google Shopping can play in the rapidly evolving world of social commerce.

Responsibilities
- Own and grow our organic presence; establish a social content calendar, oversee creative development, and manage day-to-day operations and analytics.
- Manage a dedicated social agency for all planning, creative development, and community management.
- Seek out trends and data sources regularly and turn them into insights that can inspire social stories, conversations, and shopping inspiration.
- Lead social-first paid campaign strategies and creative development while ensuring cohesion with our broader consumer campaigns in order to drive brand lift.
- Oversee all content and campaign reporting, and optimize future content based on performance.
