Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 8 years of experience with: Java, C/C++ or Python.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Understanding of basic data analytics concepts (statistics, analysis, metric development).
- Infrastructure design skills including but not limited to pipeline development, databases, API design.

The Geo Batch Data Access team curates structured geographic datasets that help engineers, product managers, analysts, and executives across Google interact with and understand Geo Data. We also leverage and adapt infrastructure to improve batch methodologies of serving and accessing these datasets. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test across multiple technology stacks and surface.
- Lead a pod of 3-4 engineers with future growth into management responsibilities.
- Refine requirements, communicating with other teams and directing the work of other engineers.
- Contribute to shared team support of our existing products and services.
- Learn new technologies and apply them in novel ways.
