Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.

We are working on enabling Ambient Computing via Voice assistant to connect all your assistant devices by supporting Natural Conversation for all your Google Assistant devices.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will build the underlying infrastructure for cross-device infrastructure and experiences. You will work with internal developers to adopt these infrastructures. You’ll leverage ML to enhance the quality of multi-device arbitration and whole home presence service. Additionally, you will execute and implement user-facing seamless stream transfers across Assistant surfaces (e.g., Phone, Smart display, TV, Watch, Speaker, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and implement new user-facing features and applications.
- Work on the client side systems in Android, Linux, or Cast environment.
- Bring hardware system from prototypes to production, experimenting new interactions and taking them to launch.
- Maintain and refactor client system with ever-growing requests from users.
- Build data collection, eval pipeline, and ML model training infrastructure.
