Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations research, or related field or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience designing products for manufacture and assembly
- Experience with CAD software and simulation tools, such as Delmia and Catia
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Scripting and automation experience using languages such as Python, C, C++
- Large-scale fabrication and/or design and construction experience
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
In this role, you will help Google to develop, validate, and implement repetitive processes to fabricate and assemble our data centers. You will partner with designers, manufacturing specialists, construction managers, commodity managers, quality experts, and various external partners to reduce data center cost and cycle time through continuous improvement and economies of scale. You will be responsible for developing, deploying, operating, and managing the infrastructure that we use to do this.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and construction teams to develop and optimize data center product designs using digital simulation tools
- Author detailed work instructions to inform fabrication and assembly activities by machines and skilled craft-workers in factories and on data center construction sites
- Assist technology specialists to deploy new tools and processes that simulate, optimize, automate, and communicate data center fabrication and assembly processes
- Manage and aid partner teams that assist Google to develop data center designs using digital simulation, 3D design tools, PLM, and systems engineering approaches
