Minimum qualifications:
- 5 years of software engineering or development experience in Java or C/C++.
- Software engineering experience in Android or other Linux-based embedded systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience developing and troubleshooting audio, video, and graphics software, and hardware systems on embedded systems.
- Experience working with customer or partner companies to launch products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire to share technical knowledge and information with others.

Google’s TV Partner Engineering team helps solve some of the toughest television technology problems and build a healthy TV ecosystem. We work with teams across Google to develop technical solutions for strategic partners around the globe for the Android TV OS.
The TV Partner Engineering team helps SoC, OEM, and PayTV operator partners develop TV products that are used everyday by many users globally. As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with partners around the world and with other teams such as Android Engineering, YouTube, and Google Assistant to build reference software images used by OTT, Pay TV, and Smart Television OEM devices. Your breadth of knowledge in hardware design, Linux kernel, Android OS, will enable partners to build and deploy Android TV devices.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, debug, and solve issues encountered on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and SoC reference devices running Android TV.
- Guarantee the technical aspects of a partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by developing sample implementation, reviewing code, and providing necessary technical guidance.
- Perform implementation reviews, advocate new product features, and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of technical challenges.
- Improve product feature offerings by providing partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.
