Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in systems engineering or software development.
- Experience as a system or software architect in a supply chain or operations role.
- Experience working in the data center, cloud computing, and in process/project management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
- Experience in agile software development and managing multiple applications.
- Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical members.
- Experience in deployment of server, storage, networking, racks and system software at high-scale, and supporting product features, services and technologies (e.g., networking protocols, SDN/SDS principles, automation in data centers).
About the job
As a Technical Systems Lead, you will lead a global team to accelerate systems software issues and features request in Google’s data center operations for Builds, Upgrades, New Product Introduction (NPI). You will be the advocate of the users to Product and Engineering teams collaborating on product strategy, make vs. buy decisions, support/bug triage, research, system optimizations and decommissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring the systems software for Builds, Upgrades, and NPI produce the optimal result.
Responsibilities
- Hire, develop, and lead a team of systems architects and program managers.
- Work with Operations and Engineering teams to develop/iterate on systems architecture, diagnose issues, develop new requirements, triage issues, develop and own key results for builds, upgrades, and NPI for Google’s server operations systems.
- Lead Planning and Execution work groups that focus on centrally prioritizing systems software product and engineering features, bugs, optimization, and new evaluations increasing innovation and automation for data center operations.
- Execute, manage, and maintain systems architecture as-is and to-be collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and Operations.
