Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing.
- Experience working in collaboration with software engineers on a daily basis.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of technical writing experience.
- Experience with HTML and CSS.
- Experience in a Unix environment.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to read and understand source code written in Java, C++, Python and/or JavaScript.

Dart/Flutter Developer Relations grows and supports the Dart and Flutter developer communities. We onboard and retain new developers by building a fun, smart, and approachable culture, providing resources to help them succeed, and advocating on their behalf.
As a new Technical Writer for Dart/Flutter Developer Relations (DevRel) with a focus on Firebase, you’ll join a growing community of developers using Flutter to build apps for mobile, web, and desktop that use Firebase services.
Most of the responsibilities for this role take forms common to DevRel across Google, create written developer resources, edit and improve the written work of others, and so on.
Responsibilities
- Build an inclusive, collaborative, and fun team culture, and then bring that same culture to the wider Flutter and Firebase communities. You’ll welcome beginners, challenge experts, and advocate for underserved developer populations.
- Plan, create, and maintain educational content for Flutter’s global community of developers. This will most often take the form of blog posts, technical guides on the Flutter and Firebase websites, and codelabs, but could also include things like YouTube scripts.
- Work complex technical subjects into clear, well-structured text from which our developers can readily learn.
- Edit and improve the writing contributions of Googlers and other developers.
