About the job
Technical writers take complex information and communicate it clearly, concisely and accurately without relying on technical or corporate jargon to explain what they’re trying to say. With a unique cross functional perspective, our team of technical writers are the key link between our engineers, marketing associates, developer advocates and external users and developers who comprise the wide Google ecosystem. As a Technical Writer, you juggle a variety of projects, from reading and writing example code, to updating FAQs, to drafting product announcements. When a new technical challenge rises to forefront, you are there to defuse it with your clarifying pen (or keyboard, more likely).
You will be a part of a team of writers who develop documentation for teams in the Google Data Centers. You will interact with engineering and other operations groups to define deliverables, priorities, standards, and are responsible for writing and editing of the product documentation. You will advocate the information experience, possess excellent writing abilities, and enjoy improving their teams.

Responsibilities
- Plan, research, and write documentation for projects of moderate to high complexity and scope. Identify and analyze documentation needs.
- Develop innovative solutions to resolve complex tasks. Work on solutions that improve processes and practices, including maintenance processes and tools.
- Understand the technical details of projects. Anticipate the questions, problems, and needs of many audiences that may arise in the topics described.
- Deliver clear, correct, and well-structured writing. Edit, revise, and restructure a wide range of documentation.
- Manage medium to large projects and coordinate team members’ contributions to the project. Travel up to 25% to meet with team and data center teams.
