Google Hiring for UX Interaction Design Lead, BigQuery at Seattle, WA Full Time
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists and Product Managers throughout the design process; creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes.
- Experience designing across multiple platforms.
- Portfolio highlighting multiple projects that demonstrates experiences crafting usable digital interfaces.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 12 years of industry experience working in a fast paced, high-tech environment.
- 5 years of direct experience working with a variety of enterprise and cloud technology systems, cloud migrations, designing solutions, or developing business applications.
- Experience working in collaboration with software engineers on a daily basis, with knowledge of database design and other data storage solutions.
- Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features, all with a user-centered design process.
- Skills in communicating and influencing product design strategy.

As a UX team within BigQuery we focus on improving the end-user product experience of tools and workflows for our end users: Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists.
Responsibilities
- Develop user journeys, mockups, prototypes, storyboards, and presentations to effectively communicate design ideas for Data products.
- Translate complex workflows and system designs into elegant conceptual models while pushing creativity and innovation, challenging established thinking, and developing new approaches to complex design problems.
- Partner with UX Research, Product Management, and Engineering to influence direction and drive features from research to implementation.
- Advocate effectively for users to improve the User Experience while aligning with Google Cloud and Data Business Strategy.
- Design in a complex ecosystem of enterprise applications, creating and evolving Google Cloud UX standards.
