Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
12 years of experience in managing outsourcing compliance, risk, or employment legal advisory, in a multinational environment
Experience in program/project management with contingent/extended workforce
Experience as a people manager
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in reviewing vendor Statements of Work (SOWs) for policy/employment legal compliance
Experience with organizational change management and transformation
Project/program management experience, influencing leadership and stakeholders, and overcoming barriers to implementation
Understanding of co-employment risk between large multinational companies and a contingent/vendor workforce
Ability to establish domain expertise, exercising initiative and acumen across multiple work streams and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective analytical and problem solving skills
About the job
In this role, you will join a global team, who provide the infrastructure, expertise, and advice to support our business to engage a large contingent/extended workforce (made up of Temporary Staff, Vendors, Independent Contractors, and Business Process Outsourcing). The compliance team, which is part of the risk function, is responsible for advising and supporting the business to ensure compliance with extended policies and with local law, across many jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Manage compliance program managers in the provision of guidance and advice regarding policy interpretation and escalation management
Provide pragmatic, business-centered advice while ensuring legal and policy compliance
Identify instances of misclassification of worker types and advocating for and advising the business of, appropriate remediation. Educate Google’s contingent labour and vendor managers as to best practice and risk mitigation when engaging a contingent/extended workforce, using a customer focused mindset
Develop and maintain relationships with ecosystem partners including in-house employment, privacy, and commercial legal. Act as subject matter expert re-contingent labour/vendor engagement policy to a diverse range of customer groups and partner teams across multiple jurisdictions
Utilize and effectively analyze compliance data to understand trends and develop recommendations for action
