About the job
The Server Operations team monitors the physical and network infrastructure behind Google’s technology and holds responsibility for keeping the servers, networks, and logistics processes in Google’s global fleet of data centers running smoothly and efficiently. We strive to be diverse, creative, team-oriented technicians and managers working daily to operate systems in Google’s data centers, changing the face of contemporary computing.
As a Contracts Specialist in Server Operations, you will be part of a brand new Vendor Strategy, Governance and Infrastructure team reinventing the way the extended workforce is managed across the Technical Infrastructure product area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team from the very beginning, innovate from scratch, and directly influence the operating model and team set up.
The Contracts Specialist candidate will have direct experience in contract management with third party logistics and manufacturing vendors. You have the responsibility for the process to liaise with Legal, Finance, and Global Procurement to develop standardized templates globally, aggregate and manage contractual risks, and have experience designing incentive programs within logistics and manufacturing. You are equally at home explaining your team’s analysis and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs with stakeholders.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google’s product portfolio possible. We’re proud to be our engineers’ engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Contribute thought leadership to and assist the Legal and Global Procurement teams with a broad array of Technical Infrastructure contract matters and manage the internal contract lifecycle, including RFP/RFQ, vendor onboarding/offboarding, and pricing analytics.
Participate in maintenance and update of all contract policies and procedures and manage Legal forms and templates.
Design vendor scorecards; conduct value leakage analysis and mitigation plans.
Assist with building and implementing vendor scorecards and standards to deliver continual improvement.
