About the job
As a Data Center Sustainability Program Manager, you will address the carbon footprint and associated sustainability opportunities facing the Google Data Center fleet, promoting Google Data Center’s (GDC) sustainability ambitions.
As a Data Center Sustainability Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing major components of the GDC’s roadmap to achieve net zero emissions across all of Google’s operations and value chain by 2030. Google publicly committed to reduce the majority of our emissions (versus our 2019 baseline) before 2030. You will be involved in many dynamic elements, including internal stakeholder coordination, modeling the greenhouse gas footprint of the DC fleet, and collaborating with other Google Data Center teams to test and pilot materials.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google’s product portfolio possible. We’re proud to be our engineers’ engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Responsibilities
Promote strategy implementation and refining of roadmaps to meet the program goals.
Lead the data center Life-Cycle Analysis and manage materials research, assessment, and testing programs.
Track program performance against goal commitments, competition, and environmental sustainability regulations and standards.
Foster efficient internal communication and collaboration across areas of the program.
