Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in software engineering or development with coding experience with Java, Python, R, and SQL.
Experience with data analytics within a cloud based environment.
Experience working with customers, partners, or third-party developers, and advocating/mentoring for new and existing technologies and programming languages.
Experience within one or more of the following industries: retailing, media/entertainment, sports, gaming, financial services, and higher education.
Experience with data analytics and/or data science technologies with on-premise and/or cloud technologies data.
Ability to communicate and advocate on behalf of the Google Cloud Platform.
Excellent public speaking skills.

Developer Relation Engineers (DRE) are Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experts who are passionate representatives of our technologies to our communities and vocal proponent of those communities back within Google. Our goal is to increase awareness, mindshare, and adoption of GCP. DREs accomplish this by creating impactful and relevant content and engaging with communities online or at 1st-party or 3rd-party events. To drive feedback back into the product teams and improve our offerings, DREs work closely with product managers and software engineering teams.
You’ll help developers and architects understand how Google’s products can be used individually and together to support a wide range of legacy and workloads in a variety of enterprise and consumer areas within the domain of data science and data analytics. In this role, you will focus on data science and data analytics on Google Cloud Platform, covering products and technologies within specific business industries.
Create plans and initiatives that create momentum and drive the success of the Google Cloud Platform and interactions with third-party technical communities and customers.
Consult on and advocate during customer adoption engagements to ensure optimal execution of the opportunity.
Advocate for your community internally and influence Google Cloud product strategy and craft narratives around products and features by working with cross-functional teams.
Build and foster an external ‘community ecosystem’ that amplify our messages and extend our reach.
Support the promotion of Google Cloud’s leadership and grow mindshare within the industry.
