Minimum qualifications:
15 years of leadership experience in a global Cloud, SaaS, enterprise software/infrastructure company, including technical experience with: enterprise application development, cloud developer experience, data analytics, databases, ML/AI, security systems, high-performance computing, storage systems, networking, or fault-tolerant software infrastructure.
Experience growing and managing teams and collaborating with multiple business stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple business stakeholders in a heavily matrixed organization, influencing, communicating, and driving change across organizational, geographical, and cross-functional boundaries.
Ability to think strategically and problem solve creatively at a high level.
Ability to engage on technical requirements for go-to market strategies.
Excellent organizational and analytical expertise including the ability to use benchmarks and performance metrics to track progress, while maintaining constant focus on business impact.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

As Director, Developer Advocacy, Google Cloud, you will lead our Cloud Developer Advocacy team in building an ecosystem of developers and technical practitioners around Google Cloud’s products and solutions. You will drive overall awareness of Google Cloud, engaging and educating our customers on how to solve their business problems using Google Cloud, and representing our customers within Google Cloud with the goal of significantly enhancing our products. You will have a passion for technology and a thorough understanding of the cloud and its services and technologies, competitive landscape, and emerging trends in the space. Understanding of developers and technical practitioners at large and the ability to collaborate closely with a number of internal business units and field functions to achieve that mission are other fundamental pieces for success.

Responsibilities
Set the vision and strategy for Google Cloud Advocacy team, defining and executing Google Cloud’s technical communities engagement strategy, representing the perspective of our practitioner ecosystem to facilitate product improvement.
Optimize our scalable digital content channels to maximize outreach, lead content production across our team (design patterns, social media, demos, etc.) and customer engagement strategy to align and maximize our team’s impact on product adoption and business growth.
Lead a distributed team, enabling transparency and accountability in execution with partners, collaborating with our field organizations across the globe, partnering across other functions in Google Cloud like marketing, sales, support, training, engineering, product, UX, customer success and across Google Cloud product area business units.
Lead by example, engaging with customers, producing scalable content, and mentoring and growing a global team of passionate developer advocates and managers.
