15 years of experience leading engineering organizations.
Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
Experience working in engineering and product organizations.

Experience leading a large and distributed organization and motivating teams behind a common vision by working alongside Product Management and User Experience.
Experience building organizational structures by investing in leads through mentorship.
Experience in large software systems and maintenance (i.e., developer products, microservices, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
About the job
As a Director of Engineering for App Lifecycle Management Workflows, you will lead our product teams working on application lifecycle platform, debugging, and profiling workflows. You will directly lead a team of software engineers and indirectly influence individuals across Product Management (PM), User Experience (UX), Technical Program Management (TPM), and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). In this role, you will work with PM, UX, and the leadership team to build out a product strategy for these areas, which will impact the lives of Google developers.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities
Build and drive a coherent vision and strategy for Google’s Developer Products.
Be accountable for the success of Core Developer Workflow, by shaping the overall organization strategy and driving speed, ease, and quality outcomes for Google’s engineering teams.
Measure, explain, and maximize the impact of the Application Lifecycle Platform and Debugging Teams.
Partner closely with our Server Platforms, Languages, and other organizations.
