Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
10 years of experience in training and education management
10 years of experience managing technical software engineering projects
5 years of experience leading teams within technical program management or equivalent roles
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import/export talent and ideas to achieve broader organizational goals
Comfort with changing specifications/standards, and the ability to create conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working in response to ambiguity
Understanding of the complex relationship between an organization and its environment, and the ability to identity connections, adopt different perspectives, and rapidly respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

About the job
The Google Cloud organization has grown significantly in the last few years. In this role, you will build out a training curriculum for the Engineering/Product organization in Google Cloud.
You will be part of the Cloud Programs team that’s responsible for managing engineering operations and programs for the Google Cloud Platform. You will utilize your leadership capabilities and expertise in managing engineering organizations to help understand the training content needed for the organization.
To make our Google Cloud vision a reality, the Director of Cloud Programs Education and Training will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver training programs. You will analyze how Google Cloud works, its technical stacks, its product strategy, and cultural beliefs, building a program and curriculum that is easy and bite-sized for the organization to absorb, and making sure the content stays current and relevant. You will use technical and business depth, and excellent organizational and communication skills to motivate teams to rapidly establish trust amongst a diverse set of stakeholders and customers. You will leverage your background managing large, multidisciplinary teams in Engineering, Program Management, and/or Operations, as well as your passion for building training and educational programs.

Responsibilities
Understand Google Cloud’s current software development lifecycle process.
Standardize and design a workflow enabling teams to continue to scale at rapid speed.
Partner with executive leadership across Google Cloud and external Engineering teams to build systems that deliver and map to this workflow.
Get buy-in and inspire Engineering teams to adopt these changes.
Centralize and standardize relevant operations within the Program Management team to efforts. Make continuous changes in a low-overhead manner.
