About the job
As the Director of Workplace NY, you will be responsible for overseeing the new and expanding real estate portfolio for our Americas region. This includes financial planning, portfolio planning, and all design/construction initiatives. You will be a leader of the project executive function within Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS), managing director-level, sub-regional leaders and their portfolios. These leaders possess a wide array of knowledge and experience of the real estate and construction world. They are on the initial lines of Google’s physical expansion – planning, designing, and constructing a variety of innovative buildings and space types that support Google’s diverse business needs.
In this role, you will collaborate effectively with our cross-functional partners within REWS and partner with the business customer leadership outside of REWS. You will build trust with your business partners and customers, through analysis and the alignment of appropriate expectations for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders.
The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team creates inspiring spaces and innovative services that bring Google’s culture and values to life. We build and maintain all aspects of what keeps our Googley workspaces operating seamlessly across multiple cities and regions globally. We also manage the industry-leading services that help make Google a great place to work – from how we design healthy and collaborative workspaces, create energizing food experiences, provide convenient transportation and fitness options, to delivering inclusive environments where Google and our employees can thrive.
Responsibilities
Manage a direct and indirect team, providing oversight for your team’s projects and initiatives.
Lead, deliver, and align real estate strategy.
Work with REWS partners to understand Google’s growing real estate portfolio and capital plan needs in the region. Engage with customers, cross-functional partners, and other internal organization.
Develop and maintain optimal relationships with internal stakeholders, as well as lead external consultants and vendors through Google’s process and controls.
Contribute to a market-specific portfolio strategy, including managing and tracking all aspects/details of the design, schedule, budget, and construction, as well as contributing to, and implementing, a multi-year master plan process, updating it periodically.
