First launched in 2009 with the intent to bring speed, security, and stability to devices, Chrome OS is an open source operating system that uses the Chrome Web Browser as its principal user interface. Devices using Chrome OS known as Chromebooks were first released to the market in 2011, and over time, have become the primary computing device used in schools worldwide. Google is looking to leverage this early success into other large market segments, in particular Consumer and Enterprise client computing overall. To achieve this, Google intends to build up an exceptional leadership team that will help accomplish these ambitious goals.
You will be responsible for bringup to productization of all our current and future x86 and ARM based Chrome OS platforms and associated product launches. You will be responsible for working with internal and external partners to define strategy, influence partner SOC roadmaps and end to end platform execution from conception to device launches of Chrome OS platforms.
You will be responsible for identifying innovative solutions to support device growth and scaling while keeping product quality guardrails. You will also be responsible for adding innovative platform features to Chrome OS.
Drive the future of Chrome OS devices and platforms
Own the platform vision, engineering scaling strategy and engineering execution for all Chrome OS platforms
Come up with and implement innovative engineering execution ideas to enable scaling of the team and the processes to support the growth of Chrome OS devices and ecosystem
Drive engineering excellence and product excellence initiatives in Chrome OS platforms and devices
Manage and develop a large high performing team. Grow and retain the world’s best talent, building a strong and healthy succession bench, and fostering a culture consistent with our brand, organizational values, user/customer focus
