Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of experience leading engineering or engineering productivity.
Experience with mobile, web, and frontend software engineering.
Experience recruiting and managing geographically distributed teams.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in building mobile and web applications or developer infrastructure.
Ability to make technical decisions, have credibility with engineers, lead technical reviews and discussions, and to dive into details.
Ability to drive the culture of innovation, customer obsession, and engineering excellence.
Ability to inspire and motivate engineering teams to work together, build industry leading developer infrastructure, drive adoption, and deliver impact.
Excellent leadership, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

The Developer Experience and Productivity team at YouTube is responsible for scaling YouTube Engineering. It empowers YouTube’s engineers to deliver better products and services to YouTube users by building developer tools and processes throughout the software development lifecycle and across platforms.
In this role, you will be responsible for reimagining and improving developer experience and product excellence for all YouTube applications (e.g., YouTube, Music, TV, Kids, Studio), across all platforms.

Responsibilities
Identify gaps and develop solutions to address them, and contribute to YouTube engineering leadership on YouTube initiatives.
Manage and grow a team of software engineers across varying levels and collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders and teams both within YouTube and across Google.
Take responsibility for the overall planning, execution, and success of technical projects.
Develop and grow leadership talent through mentoring, succession planning. and retention strategies for key talent.
