The Nest Software team is responsible for building and launching Nest Devices such as the Nest Thermostat, Nest Camera, Google Home, Chromecast, Google Wifi, and Google Assistant Display products.
Technical areas of focus include IOT, Device Management Services, Identity and Household Authentication models, Services to power new consumer experiences such as Family Friendly WiFi, Home Automation, Contextual Intelligence, Voice Casting, Voice Assistant Services, Machine Learning, and more.
The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Nest team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of software engineers and provide technical leadership on the Home Metadata team.
Drive technical decisions and execution on projects highlighted at the Nest and Nest Services levels.
Build relationships with client teams, prioritize work across the platform, and meet customer needs.
Evolve our systems into a simpler, cleaner architecture as part of infrastructure investment objective key results.
Grow and retain a diverse set of talent, providing technical direction and career guidance.
