Experience managing a team of professionals
Preferred qualifications:
Experience influencing cross-functional teams
Experience counseling executives in mission-critical moments
Expertise in video, graphics, or other multimedia
Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Critical thinker, with the ability to quickly grasp and communicate about complex technical systems and topics
Excellent communication, presentation, and copy editing skills
About the job
The Google Data Center (GDC) Communications team provides guidance and timely employee and public communications to grow the GDC culture and help achieve business goals.
We manage internal and external-facing communications such as presentations, emails, and meetings, incident response communications, GDC intranet, Google Data Centers site www.google.com/datacenters/, production, and curation of images and videos, and public GDC presentations such as An Insider’s Look: Google’s Data Centers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfF3pOzdmlE.
As team lead for GDC Communications, you will manage complex global internal communications programs, collaborating cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the organization. You will create communications that educate, inform, and inspire our employees. You will drive leadership communications (e.g., emails, all hands, presentations, intranet content) and written and multimedia content (e.g., audio, images, web) for the global GDC organization, helping to promote GDC as an industry leader, while building employee engagement. All this while managing a small team of communications experts.
In this role, you will help execute strategic communications campaigns, write compelling messages for leadership, create thoughtful presentations for internal meetings, and find innovative ways to engage employees and build a shared culture. To succeed in this role, you will summarize technical and business concepts in writing and in person.
