Preferred qualifications:
Experience troubleshooting vacuum, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software systems down to a block/board level
Experience with electro-mechanical measurements (i.e., oscilloscopes, generators, calipers, etc.), CAD software (i.e., KCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD)
Experience working in a cleanroom environment and sustaining operations in a research environment
Experience managing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing construction in a production or R&D environment
Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings and running building control software

The Quantum team’s mission is to make useful quantum computing tools available to the world to enable humankind to solve problems that would otherwise be impossible. Google AI Quantum is building novel systems that can leverage quantum mechanics to outperform the world’s largest computers at certain classes of problems.
You will be involved in procurement, upgrading, and maintaining equipment for prototype, as well as operating, qualifying, and stabilizing existing process equipment. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow team members, manage outside vendors, and improve the performance and reliability of our quantum devices.
Responsibilities
Conduct maintenance, repair, and improvement of the fabrication equipment
Scope, procure, evaluate, purchase, and characterize process equipment appropriate for manufacturing
Oversee installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance for equipment; coordinate and manage vendors
Work at multiple locations, including a multi-user research facility
Define, document, and perform preventative maintenance; study equipment performance and reliability in support of the Microfabrication Process team
