Preferred qualifications:
Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or related fields
Experience in design failure mode and effect analysis, reliability statistical modeling, life prediction, and HALT/ALT test
Knowledge of modules/subsystems design/manufacture (e.g., LCD/OLED display, camera, audio, sensors, battery)
Familiar with typical consumer electronics failure modes, mechanisms, and characterization techniques
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
About the job
As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in creating new consumer electronic products that meet a high bar for reliability and performance. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, and then supervise test execution and failure analysis. A broad engineering background and command of statistical methods will help to inform design of new products. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations.
As a Hardware Module Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with development teams to ensure robust and reliable Module design and ship the highest quality products for our customers. You will enable technology innovation and help build safe and reliable modules and subsystems to Products.

Responsibilities
Define module reliability test metrics to effectively identify high-risk failure modes early enough in the design life cycle to ensure comprehensive module integration.
Manage module reliability programs/suppliers, including test specification development, oversee test execution, data reporting, reliability risk assessment and drive implementation.
Ensure good module reliability test coverage and failure modes correlation with system reliability requirement as well as field usage conditions.
Develop new test methodology and reliability specification justification to account for user interactions with new/advanced technologies.
Maintain an exceptional level of aptitude in data integrity, failure analysis, and root cause communication.
