About the job
In this role, you’ll be developing and writing short and long-term communications for Google’s Global Business Organization (GBO). You’ll have a view into how Google’s business ticks and the opportunity to build culture and tell impactful stories about the work Googlers do to power up businesses and help industries, ecosystems, and communities across the globe. From devising non-standard solutions to effectively communicate GBO’s vision and priorities both internally and externally, to supporting special projects as needed, you’ll advocate, inform, educate and inspire. You’ll review the nuts and bolts of everything from Google’s latest product launch, to our economic recovery efforts, to how we’re helping businesses with artificial intelligence (AI) and you’ll succeed at not just understanding the details but also at how the dots connect.
We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders-and our own employees-about the benefits of Google’s products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.
Responsibilities
Write and edit clear and compelling leadership narratives (e.g., speeches, emails, opinion editorials, blog posts, video scripts, presentations) to reinforce GBO’s priorities, values, and vision.
Execute, coordinate, and contribute to cross-functional communications strategies including team-wide events focused on a range of internal communications topics (i.e., critical business, product, or culture decisions).
Research ideas and creative approaches to telling meaningful stories that connect with our customers, partners, and users and further inspire Googlers.
Develop knowledge of Google’s products, solutions, and related technologies, and distill complex business insights and technical concepts into relevant, high-impact, non-jargony content, including beautiful presentations and visuals.
Think creatively, take smart risks, and effectively collaborate cross-functionally, across Product Areas/Functions and global teams.
