When it comes to evaluating a Mergers and Acquisitions opportunity, the M&A Finance team plays a critical role in providing the tool kit for making sound business decisions. Working in close partnership with Legal, Corporate Development and People Operations, this team provides the financial analysis, forecasting and modeling to help decision-makers assess the strengths and risks involved in a given acquisition opportunity. As part of this team, you not only have strong finance and accounting background, but you can harness this knowledge to navigate complex financial issues to find creative solutions. You’re willing to dive deep into the details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
As an Investments Controller, you will be involved in all accounting and financial aspects of the Google investment portfolio partnering with Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Investment teams to ensure Google makes sound financial decisions and complies with reporting requirements.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Lead accounting and reporting for corporate venture fund including year-end close preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and various financial reporting.
Maintain investment portfolio tracking tools and prepare quarterly fund performance analysis.
Partner with cross-functional teams to execute investment funding and assess portfolio company valuations and impairments.
Manage the post-close accounting for Google’s investment portfolio (e.g., reviewing and evaluating the portfolio companies periodic financial results, position, and their impact to Google’s accounting and asset valuation).
Collaborate with agreement teams to continue to improve the ongoing monitoring and reporting process for the investment portfolio. Work with outside tax compliance firms for tax filings and K-1 distributions.
