About the job
Within Global Partnerships, the Strategic Alliances team has a unique mandate. Focusing on a short list of companies that most impact Google’s business, the team is responsible for understanding all of Google’s strategic interests and developing cross functional plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
The strategies Google employs with our most strategic partners become increasingly complex as our relationships evolve to include multiple partnership, policy, competitive, and other business dimensions. The Strategic Alliances team’s mandate is to work internally across all the business and functional teams that interface with Google’s most strategically complex partners to help shape a cohesive cross-product area engagement strategy for Google.
In your capacity as Strategic Alliances Manager, your knowledge of the market and expertise on the partners you focus on, combined with your research and analytical abilities, inform your perspective on Google’s strategy and help you make recommendations to Google executives.
Acting as a true thought partner, you challenge, advise and support our business and product teams to optimize Google’s engagement strategy. You fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight on macro trends and future market developments from analysis of the telco industry, and then take a higher level view to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. You persistently explore and uncover the business strategies of these partners, and fully grasp how our range of product offerings both complements and competes with theirs.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic input on new business opportunities, contract negotiations, market announcements, and executive decision-making. Drive consensus on outcomes that balance both value and risk.
Project manage cross-functional and executive meetings to ensure fluid communication and alignment on multi-faceted initiatives. Be a strong individual contributor and support internal executives in shaping and coordinating specific company and/or telco vertical engagement strategies across all Google business and functional teams.
Gather data from internal and external sources to become a recognized expert on specific companies and/or verticals to inform analyses for key stakeholders on the potential impact to Google’s business or strategic approach.
Track, analyze, and deliver strategic guidance on all of Google’s ongoing agreements, discussions, challenges and opportunities with specific companies and/or verticals.
