Google Looking for Network Operations Lead, US Government at Reston, VA Full Time
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or equivalent practical experience
- 6 years of experience in technical support, professional services, software development, or network operations management
- 5 years of experience in managing a network infrastructure deployment team
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with network design, installation and maintenance for service providers or large enterprise networks; a broad understanding of network theory, technologies and the operation of optical transport and IP network systems
- Experience with field-based work in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers and Central Office environments
- Experience creating rack elevations and other planned/install/as-built documentation
- Ability to manage people, and to drive execution while furthering the personal needs and aspirations of your team’s members
- A strong understanding of network design, equipment and infrastructure

As a Network Operations Lead you will help U.S. Intelligence Community agencies to deploy innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems using the latest Google Cloud technologies.

Responsibilities
- Develop project roadmaps, establish project goals, coordinate resources, and provide technical leadership
- Advocate continuous process improvements and work with teams to drive down unit cost and increase value-add for our end-users, customers, and stakeholders.
- Proactively anticipate bottlenecks and shifts in usage, address inefficiencies, simplify and standardize existing solutions, increase availability and reliability.
- Identify and develop technical leadership within the team(s) by working alongside the tech leads (TLs) to set the direction of the immediate team and closely associated teams.
- Drive efficiencies through automation; provide end-to-end insight into and help solve operational issues; and drive standardization for creation and automation of deployment packages
