The News Lab is a global team within the Google News Initiative whose mission is to collaborate with journalists and entrepreneurs to drive innovation in news. Offering partnerships and training, we bring the best of Google technology to help journalists develop the digital skills required for the future newsroom. As the News and Information Credibility Lead for the Google News Initiative, you will be responsible for leading, managing and originating partnerships for Google’s trust and credibility products, whilst driving our external engagement with the broader information ecosystem globally.
You’ll effectively deliver industry partnerships, display internationally sourced thought leadership and coordinate with other platforms and coalitions. You’ll build the next iteration of Google’s partnerships and programs in the field of mis- and dis -information, fact checking and media literacy. This will require working in lock step with a cross-functional team across product management, policy, trust and safety, communications, marketing and more to ensure that we have a coordinated strategy for elevating quality journalism.

Responsibilities
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including product, UX/R, and partnerships to drive product roadmaps, strategy, and execution through expert knowledge of our users, Google, the news industry and broader information ecosystem trends
Lead Google’s news industry engagement and thought leadership around issues of information integrity and combating mis-/dis-information
Manage Google’s ecosystem partnerships with key industry groups
Drive our media literacy efforts both internally via product development and awareness and externally via partnerships
