As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you’ll be part of a diverse global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. As a Policy Lead, you will ensure the success of the team by proactively identifying problems, analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to drive change as a legal policy and product expert.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.
Develop, launch, and enforce scalable policies and processes to scale requirements from upcoming legislation regarding content moderation issues. Drive innovation regarding best practices for implementing such policies.
Serve as a strategic advisor and liaison to cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Public Policy, Product Policy, and Engineering.
Partner with technical teams to drive and coordinate the development and maintenance of Legal Removals tools and processes.
Engage and communicate with users, governments, and other internal and external stakeholders on removals requests, policy issues, and high-profile escalations from receipt to resolution.
Review or be exposed to sensitive content (e.g., hate speech, violent extremism, nudity, etc.) and may involve occasional off-hours coverage rotations.
