Our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world’s information. We’re responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
Developer Intelligence (DevIntel) drives how Google measures, understands, and optimizes the productivity and quality of software development across the company. DevIntel builds the data foundation for quantifying development productivity, quality, and economies-of-scale. DevIntel develops an understanding of the levers that move productivity/quality/economy and makes recommendations to CoreDev Product teams and Product Areas optimize those outcomes, and builds products to surface reports, data, and actionable insights to product teams and leaders at all levels within Core Developer and Google Product Areas. DevIntel delivers ongoing, insightful reporting to senior decision-makers across Google to drive company-wide investment, strategy, and product decisions, as well as quantitative accountability for success.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Legal, UX, and other teams on cutting edge technologies
Drive the roadmap for insightful, credible, actionable reports that leaders in Core and Google-wide can use to make investment and strategy decisions affecting development infrastructure; and for actionable productivity reports for Product Areas, pointing them toward opportunities to increase productivity, achieve greater product quality and velocity, and reduce inefficient duplication
Build the success and accountability framework for Core’s Developer pillar, helping Product teams understand and optimize the impact of their work and investments
Shape the roadmap for the underlying data foundation and core data science work (metrics research, driver analysis, etc) to enable all the above at scale
