Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a management, scientific, technical, or engineering field
6 years of experience in commercial economics, pricing, valuation, and/or product management in a cloud/IT company, management consulting, or private equity across industries
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in pricing in the cloud/IT technology space
Experience working with and challenging the thinking of product/sales organizations on initiatives related to product/solutions, business generation, and commercialization
Ability to work cross-functionally across executive stakeholders in Product and Go-To-Market/Sales organizations
Understanding of the business value drivers of cloud/IT infrastructure products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at the Vice President level
About the job
The Business Planning and Commercialization (BPC) team owns Strategic Packaging and Pricing for all of Google Cloud, including Google Cloud Platform, Google Workspace, and AI/ML and solutions.
As part of BPC, our team focuses on Google Cloud AI, industry solutions, and the technology partner ecosystem. We partner with relevant Product and Partnership teams to enable commercialization of their respective portfolios. We develop use case specific, value based business generation models that resonate with both business and technology decision makers of enterprise customers and partners. Our scope is inclusive of enabling early adopters, cross-product solutions, packaging/pricing with business relevant meters, discounting models, channel economics, profit and loss planning and optimization, and other strategic initiatives.
As the Product Operations and Strategy Principal for Google Cloud AI, you will drive innovation through Google Cloud’s business generation strategy, business models, and pricing for AI platform services and solutions. You will help shape the business and commercial strategies for Google’s differentiated technologies in AI and Machine Learning. You will design and oversee the packaging, pricing architecture, and value pricing for AI/ML services, applications, and solutions. You will design policies and structures with product managers, Sales teams, and go-to-market (GTM) leads, and influence executive stakeholders to ensure successful commercialization and business generation of product innovations. You will drive critical initiatives that will transform the way we generate business with our AI/ML products through strategic design, commercialization, and implementation, while balancing speed of execution with implementation constraints based on the right phased approach.
Responsibilities
Partner with Google Cloud Product Leadership team to define the business generation and commercialization strategies for Google Cloud AI and ML Platform and solutions, including Vertex AI, Document AI, and Vision AI portfolios.
Develop value driven and competitive business generation frameworks and strategies across the AI/ML product portfolio, and drive the execution and commercialization of product pricing models.
Define innovative packaging and pricing architectures aligned to customer segments, use cases, and across ecosystems.
Act as a thought partner and challenge Google Cloud leadership to ensure the business generation of Google’s differentiated offerings.
