Minimum qualifications:

Experience working with distributed and parallel systems and text-based natural language processing
Experience articulating business questions, using analytical methods to arrive at an answer using available data, and skills in selecting the right statistical tools
Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and business stakeholders with critical thinking and problem-solving skills

About the job
The Ads Research and Insights team generates an understanding of our customers (e.g., brands and agencies who advertise with Google) and their consumers. The team utilizes internal data and conducts primary research to uncover insights to show that Google understands consumers and advertisers, and is a key partner for business growth.
In this role, you will develop and improve the datasets, pipelines, and analysis tools that deliver actionable insights that help marketers drive business decisions. You will bring scientific accuracy and statistical methods to the challenges of data quality, data privacy, interpretation of insights, and system performance to meet the standards of users.
You’ll focus on generating insights and creating systems that ingest, classify, and transform internal and external datasets to enable scaled qualitative and quantitative research within Google Marketing. Your solutions will empower the global Marketing team to understand consumer needs, inform our go-to-market strategies, and campaigns. You will contribute thought-leadership for future innovation and long-term data strategy for Ads Research and Insights.
You’ll use programming languages to collect and analyze data, and machine learning and AI tools to help advance projects and develop capabilities. You will explore datasets, prototype data science concepts, and build data pipelines to provide insights at scale that will be shared through reports and dashboards. You’ll develop comprehensive knowledge of Google systems and data, advocating for changes where needed for product development. You will gather data and system requirements, process large datasets, perform ongoing analysis, and make presentations.
Responsibilities
Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytics methods/models as needed. Integrate additional data sources into existing datasets and perform impactful calculations.
Optimize code and application for best performance, readability, and scalability.
Develop and maintain production implementations with comprehensive understanding of our data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed.
Create and track metrics, describing the quality of data produced by pipelines. Identify quality issues, ensure they are visible to the appropriate stakeholders, and drive the resolution process.
Prioritize requests and work well in an environment with varying priorities from multiple stakeholders.
