Minimum qualifications:
PhD in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Programming experience in C, C++, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience in developing machine learning algorithms for ecology or sustainability applications.
Experience working with NGOs, SMEs, public and private sector organizations, and academics.
Experience with participatory design.
Experience in earth observation.

As a Research Scientist, you’ll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. AI for Nature and Society (AI4NS) is a research initiative to harness and sustainably scale ecosystem services through machine learning (ML) research.

Responsibilities
Set the short-term and long-term research agenda.
Define and coordinate Product Area-level and company-level strategy for AI research pertaining to nature and society.
Propose impactful ideas to launch efforts, work on prototypes, and grow the team, while also guiding several ongoing AI projects within the areas of nature and society.
Identify partners for the project to achieve global impact.
