About the job
Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.
Technical Infrastructure (TI) is the foundation for global data centers, networks, and integrating hardware and software that powers both our unique customer products and services and our internal operations.
The Server Operations team monitors the physical and network infrastructure behind Google’s technology and holds responsibility for keeping the servers, networks, and logistics processes in Google’s global fleet of data centers operating smoothly and efficiently. We are creative, team-oriented technicians and managers working to operate systems in Google’s data centers.
The name Google came from “googol,” a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Be a primary strategic business partner to the Global Server Operations team for business process management and strategic focus areas.
Drive strategic margin optimization initiatives across Global Server Operations and Technical Infrastructure. Lead inventory optimization planning and business metrics, influence capacity planning based on regional and machine demand, and own the cost reduction tracking and accountability processes.
Use impeccable business judgment, problem solving, and analytical capabilities to drive recommendations for investment prioritization and decisions. Communicate clearly and influence executive leadership teams.
Construct executive-level presentations and present complex, analytical findings in clear, concise, and decision-impacting ways.
Build analytical tools and business assets to measure business results, key success metrics, and financial performance.
