We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
This role is extremely cross-functional with various teams within Google Assistant. All teams are pivoting to an enhanced strategic vision for the future and the timing couldn’t be any better.

As part of the team, you will work to reduce user friction with offload of users’ thoughts and organize them for future lookup. You will understand users’ intent across Smart Displays, Speakers and Mobile, and fulfill through either 1P or 3P apps. You’ll also enrich in-grocery journeys with efficient grocery list management.
Responsibilities
Communicate the team’s strategy with cross-functional teams by sharing team resources to deliver user-appreciated features as efficiently as possible.
Mentor, grow, and focus the strengths of individual team members.
Cultivate the team’s culture with a focus on tech quality.
Work with Tech Leads, Program Managers, and User Experience to prioritize and resource endeavors.
Drive velocity across teams, finding resourcing constraints and seek mutually beneficial cross-team arrangements.
