Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience with infrastructure technologies and distributed systems design.

Preferred qualifications:

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
Experience with Hardware Architecture and Kernel Programming.
Expertise in Performance Analysis, Virtualization, Linux Kernel, and Software Development.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work with partner engineering teams and product management to define GCE’s Virtual Machine (VM) offering and drive key initiatives forward, developing innovative technical solutions to improve VM performance and support critical GCE customers to ensure the performance of their workload on GCE meets their expectation.
