About the job
Our goal is to deliver Android connectivity experience throughout the day that is robust, seamless, secure, private, power and performance optimized for every single radio technology (Cellular, Wi-Fi, BT, NFC, UWB).
UWB (Ultra-Wideband) is an emerging radio technology with a secure ranging capability. UWB opens up exciting opportunities for a range of new applications and user experiences, including physical access control, location-based services, device-to-device services, and many more. As part of the team, you will help build the software stack for UWB, adhering to the Android connectivity stack’s core principles, and providing application developers a rich set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to accelerate the UWB ecosystem and prevent fragmentation across Android.
Responsibilities
Design and implement innovative user experience with UWB technology
Work closely with application developers, Google first-party device teams, Android original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and hardware vendors to support all product needs and ensure interoperability
Drive product excellence, including reliability, performance, and power
Use in-depth system knowledge to analyze and solve complex user pain-points
Work closely with other wireless technologies such as BT/BLE and Wi-Fi for multi-radio coexistence
