About the job
As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary projects using your engineering expertise. You will plan requirements with internal customers and usher data center hardware products through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. You will be comfortable explaining your team’s recommendations to executives discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
In this role, you will be focused on product introduction into Google data centers working with cross-functional teams to ensure the products are safe and serviceable for technicians working in the data centers. You will interact with individuals at all levels and effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders during the full product lifecycle of products entering and exiting our data centers.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google’s product portfolio possible. We’re proud to be our engineers’ engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Grow identification, assessment, and execution of ongoing process improvement opportunities for the benefit of reducing costs and lead times, including supply chain, reliability, serviceability, and operations productivity.
Become the liaison between Google data center technicians and engineering and communicate and manage requirements across a variety of functional new product introductions (NPIs).
Assess the impact of design changes and evaluate against the project schedule, overall portfolio, and operational requirements.
Work with internal teams to institutionalize data center requirements to their evaluation and preparation of hardware/software through the NPI process, facilitating successful internal and external validation testing.
