Preferred qualifications:
Experience with regulatory processes related to launching mass produced consumer electronics
Experience with participating in standards development, industry advocacy groups, and regulatory committees
Experience in obtaining industry certifications (e.g., Bluetooth Special Interest Group, Wi-Fi Alliance, etc.)
Knowledge of rules and regulations related to RF regulatory testing and certification and RF exposure evaluation (i.e. SAR)
Understanding of applicable regulatory standards in relation to products and requirements to obtain global product certification, industry best practices, and certification processes
About the job
We are responsible for ensuring that Google Consumer Hardware products meet all applicable regulatory requirements, follow industry best practices, and are ready to succeed in the market.
Responsibilities
Lead RF product certifications across development teams, testing labs, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
Define certification test requirements and ensure testing reports are accurate, thorough, and properly accounted for in complete filing packages.
Troubleshoot compliance issues, coordinating solutions with internal and external Engineering teams and partners/suppliers.
Interact with Telecommunication Certification Bodies (TCBs), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), notified bodies, and global regulatory bodies.
Influence RF compliance requirements for innovative technologies.
