Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in product design or UX.
Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
Portfolio highlighting multiple projects with direct contributions.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
8 years of experience in product design or UX.
3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization. 2 years of experience leading design projects. 1 year of experience working with executive leaders.
Experience designing AI developer workflows and addressing issues like bias in machine learning.

As the Responsible AI UX Lead, you will democratize Google Research”s most advanced technologies by designing scalable, responsible developer tools. You’ll work with teams across Google to understand, improve, and scale the future of computer science in ways that are responsible and unlock amazing new possibilities for products and end users.
The Responsible AI (RAI) User Experience (UX) team sits within Google Research and focuses on making Google’s advanced technologies human-centered and responsible. We work on developing scalable tooling to ensure that products within and outside of Google are responsible from the start.
Google Research addresses challenges that define the technology of today and tomorrow. From conducting fundamental research to influencing product development, our research teams have the opportunity to impact technology used by billions of people every day.
Our teams aspire to make discoveries that impact everyone, and core to our approach is sharing our research and tools to fuel progress in the field – we publish regularly in academic journals, release projects as open source, and apply research to Google products.
Responsibilities
Drive and deliver UX improvements that make Google Research technologies launchable internally and externally.
Work with RAI UX team lead and Product Management lead, determining UX needs for scalable ML tooling.
Create a strategy for integrating features with existing toolchains.
Support developer software outside of RAI within Google Research.
Lead a group of designers and researchers through new designs and redesigns of existing products.
