Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in an applied research setting with a project portfolio.
1 year of experience with people management and leading a research team.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in a research related field or experience that gives you a comparable command of the methods and domains of relevant research.
Ability to perform qualitative research methods to produce insights and drive design requirements.
Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and the principles of usability.
Knowledge of quantitative methods and analytical tools.
Excellent research skills.

UX Researchers working in Google Cloud work to solve unique design challenges. You will lead a cross-function UX team for Google Cloud Platform in Systems and Services Infrastructure (S2Infra).
Our UX team collaborates closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Support, and other Product teams. You will lead a Research team and program user-centered strategic thinking for large-scale projects. You will build empathy and clarity in our understanding of enterprise customers, their workloads, and end-user experiences. You will lead a team of UX qualitative and quantitative researchers in identifying, collecting, and synthesizing insights to drive product strategy and improve ease of use across IaaS (e.g., storage, networking, and compute) and beyond.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary range between $180,000 – $194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Responsibilities
Define the UX research agenda for the team by researching behaviors/needs to identify critical goals and journeys for our customers.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders (e.g., product managers, engineers, and designers) to gather insights, build consensus around user needs, and deliver solutions.
Work with leadership to influence product strategy, testing solutions iteratively to make them more valuable to our users.
Communicate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and presentations.
Prioritize and direct the team’s investment of time and resources.
