About the job
As the Vice President of Strategy and Operations, reporting to the Vice President of Google Research, you will play a key part in advancing our mission. Google Research conducts research and collaborates broadly across the whole company, providing. You will be responsible for coordination across Research and Engineering teams to solve unique sets of challenges.
You will help form and communicate the strategic vision and lead business operations for the organization. This includes strategic planning, design, and implementation of centralized operations, establishing policies that promote company culture and vision, and managing operations of the business and the work of the organization. You will think critically, iterate quickly, provide exceptional thought leadership, and partner across a wide variety of functions to drive change.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of the multi-year organization research strategy that aligns with our overall strategy and informs decisions on organization design, staffing strategies, roadmaps, and objectives.
Lead organization-wide, cross-functional project teams to execute analyses and develop executive-level recommendations. Develop and oversee multidisciplinary teams to deliver products and projects in pursuit of our research objectives.
Design and lead a centralized operations model to manage resources, processes, and tools for effectively managing the organization (e.g., annual and quarterly objective and key results, regular review cycles, headcount planning, etc.) that drive transparency and efficiency, bring visibility, and strengthen communication across teams.
Partner cross-functionally to create long-term investment forecasts and business models, manage day-to-day operational expenditure, and track progress.
Serve as the point of contact for the Google Research Senior Vice President, coordinating product integration with cross-functional partners.
