This position will work within the Advanced Analytics team, as part of the broader ESS Business Intelligence organization. This team is focused on Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Visualization and Reporting.
Responsibilities
The Data Scientist 2 role supports the Analytics team by developing subject matter expertise around the datasets, and through supporting analysis and model development. Each team member is expected to tackle a variety of analytics tasks that require a broad skillset, while individuals are encouraged to pursue & focus on their strengths.
The ideal candidate will have a few years of experience exploring and analyzing data, and has ambitions to continue to grow their technical skillset. Additionally, a growing comfort with explaining technical issues to business partners would be a great skill to have.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
2 or more years of data analysis experience
Intermediate SQL – Focused on data mining & sourcing data for analytics
R or Python knowledge, with an understanding of standard analytics packages.
Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data
Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business
Experience in using statistics & business analysis to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions.
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with a data visualization solution such as QlikView, Tableau, Power BI
Exposure to cloud data platforms: Hadoop, Azure, etc.
Familiar with presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences.
