Humana’s Internal Audit Consulting Group has a great opportunity for an exceptional Internal Auditor 2 to provide value-added service by evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of Humana’s operational processes. Our team’s role drives the achievement of Humana’s strategic and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
The Internal Auditor 2 executes audit plans and prepares reports for management on the results of risk audits, provides recommendations on improvements and efficiencies, and/or participates in Sarbanes-Oxley activities. This role interfaces with and assists external auditors to expedite their work and maintains an effective quality assurance program when executing responsibilities.
The Internal Auditor 2 understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. The Internal Auditor 2 makes decisions regarding their work methods, requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. This role follows established guidelines and procedures and makes opportunities to participate in department initiatives.
Detailed role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform audit projects and consulting engagements in accordance with established methodology and within budgeted timeframes
Participate in audit planning, fieldwork and reporting phases of engagements
Prepare audit workpapers in accordance with Internal Audit and departmental standards
Assist in identifying audit issues and root causes, recommend improved internal controls and business processes, and ensure that corrective action plans are developed and implemented by management
Routinely make decisions based on testing execution in varied situations
Assist in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management
Begins to identify ways to consult on risk, control, governance, process for areas under review
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
1+ years of audit or consulting experience
Successful track record in facilitating and consulting across teams and managing projects
Likes to focus on the “big picture” and thrives in a fast paced, multi-project work environment
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks and projects
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Team-oriented; optimistic attitude
Implementation and execution skills; troubleshooting skills
Aptitude for establishing working relationships with associates within the department and the business
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP, CFE, or PMP (or in process of obtaining)
Advanced degree preferred
Data Analytics / Business Intelligence experience a plus. Prior experience with data analytics tools, including but not limited to, PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, R & Python.
Six Sigma Black Belt, Process Improvement and/or Quality Control expertise
