The Marketing Campaign Developer supports Humana Military email and Text marketing projects as assigned. As a communications developer you are responsible for developing text campaigns and e-mail campaigns that are advantage responsive email solutions using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS in an effort to provide maximum value to the end-user. You are responsible for email and text campaigns that include layout, development, maintenance, execution of communication campaigns (ex: drip campaigns), user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new education and updates to customers. Additionally, you are responsible for leading interaction with our IT partners to ensure a clear, efficient approach to delivery, quality in all promoted work, scalable and well thought out approaches, and front-end technologies that are appropriately implemented. Coordinates multiple projects, prioritizes work, in a dynamic environment and takes the initiative to advance projects to the next step; participates in cross-functional work groups as appropriate; is well versed in email and text platforms, seeks to support Humana Military objectives in the areas of excellence, trust, and championing the customer. Coordinates activities and integrates processes and tools wherever possible with marketing-related functions across the enterprise; ensures compliance with Humana marketing and brand standards and protocols.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
60% Responsible for email and text campaigns that include layout, development, maintenance, execution of communication campaigns (ex: drip campaigns), user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new education and updates to customers.
Create semantic, W3C valid, accessible, cross-browser compatible, mobile responsive digital communications. Act as a consultant to an agency, vendor, IT, digital and communications teams to ensure projects are semantic, W3C valid, accessible (as required), and cross-browser compatible. Work within current constraints of email and text applications to extend functionality or support User-Experience (Design) direction. Execute communication delivery according to turn schedule or as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, problems, and errors encountered across communication platforms, internal applications, and systems as reported or experienced. Maintain and update our development standards library with best-practice approaches to communication delivery platforms and development techniques and processes. Maintain and update our documentation library with system, site, and process level guidance information.
20% Be a subject matter expert (SME) and share knowledge on development patterns and concepts, such as: publish-subscribe (pub-sub) pattern, module pattern, event delegation, inheritance, dependency injection, contextual relationships, and closures. Share knowledge on our internal systems, processes, communications technologies by keeping up with best-practices. Educate the team based on this knowledge. Be a SME within the realm of integrating front-end technologies with back-end systems, MVC patterns, and integration with third-party APIs and services.
20% Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages. Influence technology selection and implementation decisions with our IT partners and the digital communications team. Provide post-launch verification of features and changes. Display strong leadership qualities while working with vendors, agencies, internal partners, and team members. Possess a foundation of the theories and principles behind usability and interface design. Understand the value of Accessibility and use creativity in finding accessible solutions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 5 plus years of User Interface Design experience
Knowledge of JavaScript (Examples: JQuery, publish-subscribe (Pub-Sub) pattern, module pattern, event delegation, inheritance, dependency injection, contextual relationships and closures
Prior experience in Mobile responsive development
Experience working with communication platforms (Text, Email)
Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS
Knowledge of and/or working experience with Content Management System (CMS)
Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team development setting
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Proficient to include MS Access
