ESS Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Shared Services team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana’s Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer’s experience.

Responsibilities

This position will work within the ESS Business Intelligence team. This team is focused on Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Stewardship, Data Visualization and Reporting.

This Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Senior Data Steward) role will focus on the Data Stewardship function. Data Stewards strategically manage governed data within their area of responsibility while ensuring the highest level of data quality, integrity, privacy, availability, security and usability. Data Stewards work with the business owners of data, business users, IT Custodians, Data Quality Analysts and Data Modelers to ensure proper use, access and quality of the information.

The ideal candidate will have:
Ability to interact with business and IT departments in understanding user needs

Able to translate the business needs to technical requirements in terms of data needs

Managing appropriate use and definition of service data

Develop data requirements for system enhancement

Experience in performing in-depth data analysis to derive insights that drives business outcomes and decisions.

Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills

Be an innovative thinker with an innate curiosity around data

Be self-motivated and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Experience in problem analysis and process documentation

Role Essentials

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience

3+ years’ data analytics experience in technology realm

Experience in leading the management of data with an eye for data quality and compliance of data standards.

Be able to assess complex data sets and perform root cause analysis

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to balance competing priorities to drive for the best outcome

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Role Desirables

Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience working in the SNOWFLAKE cloud computing platform

Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry

Data stewardship experience

Previous experience with Genesys or other consumer experience platforms

Azure Certifications

Experience with Data Taxonomy Development

Project Management experience

Additional Information

Vaccine Policy:
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Every associate and contractor who work inside a Humana facility or in the field, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a daily health-screening questionnaire.

Work-At-Home Requirements:
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25×10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
