Responsibilities
The Wellness Coach 2 explains, educates, reinforces, and coaches members on their tailored self-help plans.
Identifies problems, sets goals, and determines the individual’s health status based on assessment.
Establishes goals for each individual regarding educational and health care needs.
May communicate with primary care and/or treating physician to request specific health information and/or to provide an update of an individual’s health care status.
Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, in health promotion, nutrition, exercise science, health psychology or related field
NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach) certification is required
Coaching hours of operation are 8am to 11pm Eastern.
Evening hours to 10pm Eastern are currently required due to program needs. (Friday plus at least 1 other weekday evening)
Excellent Coaching skills
Excellent keyboarding skills – this is a live entry position and you will be talking and typing at the same time.
Strong organizational skills — able to manage multiple tasks, and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to serve as a facilitator of peoples’ behavior change, not be the expert and/or educator.
Have a learning orientation — committed to continuous learning and development.
Ability to shift focus and quickly adapt to change as needed.
Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home office to ensure you and your coaching members have absolute and continuous privacy while you work together.
Must have accessibility to high speed DSL or Cable modem for a home office.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual — English, Spanish
3 or more years’ experience in health and wellness coaching
Life coaching experience
2 or more years’ experience in health and wellness coaching in a corporate or health care setting
Additional Information
This is a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP) position and is not eligible for medical benefits.
VSP Coaches must be available for a minimum of 25 hours of work per week. However, the company does not guarantee that a minimum amount of work hours will be available. Work is assigned according to demand and may gradually fluctuate to accommodate business needs.
